Note to subscribers for the amendments to the rules governing the listing of securities on the GEM (the "GEM Listing Rules")

Amendments to the GEM Listing Rules


We have amended the GEM Listing Rules to implement the proposals set out in the “Consultation Conclusions on Proposed Amendments to Listing Rules Relating to Treasury Shares” published on 12 April 2024.

The amendments to the GEM Listing Rules are to (a) remove the requirement to cancel repurchased shares and (b) adopt a framework to govern the resale of treasury shares.

We have also made certain housekeeping amendments to the GEM Listing Rules that do not change any policy direction.

Coming into effect

The amendments will come into effect on 11 June 2024.
