Arom Pathammavong is currently APAC Head of Benchmarks for FTSE Russell based in Hong Kong. In this role Mr. Pathammavong is looking to help provide benchmark-based solutions to clients in APAC leveraging the Equity, Fixed Income but also Multi-Asset capabilities of FTSE Russell. Mr Pathammavong joined FTSE Russell in September 2017 following the acquisition of the Citi Fixed Income Indices by the London Stock Exchange Group. While at Citigroup, Mr. Pathammavong was the Global Head of Citi Fixed Income Indices. During his tenure he expanded the market-weighted and smart beta product families, and spearheaded the business development of a new index system to meet the customization needs of benchmarking clients.

He originally started at Salomon Smith Barney (a predecessor of Citigroup) in 1999, and has served in a variety of capacities, originally as Equity Derivatives Sales and later as a Senior Equity Derivatives Structurer, both in London.  He moved to Hong Kong in 2006 to take charge of the Equity Derivatives Structuring group for the Asia Pacific region and subsequently became APAC Head of Structuring focusing on multi-asset structured products. In 2013, he became Global Head of Citi Fixed Income Indices. Mr. Pathammavong’s industry experience spans 20 years, working across equities, fixed income and multi-asset to design market reference benchmarks, smart beta indices, structured products and funds for global investors.

Mr. Pathammavong holds an engineering degree in Computer Sciences from INSA (Institut National des Sciences Appliquées) in France and an MBA from the London Business School.
