Carbon Reduction Charter |
HKEX signed the charter in September 2008, and has since supported various carbon reduction activities as a green partner of Environmental Protection Department’s “Green Hong Kong – Carbon Audit” campaign. |
Energy Saving Charter |
HKEX signed the charter in June 2014 and has pledged to save energy by maintaining the average indoor temperature of its premises between 24oC to 26oC from June to September. |
Financial Literacy Charter |
HKEX signed the charter in June 2019 and declared to support the Investor and Financial Education Council’s Financial Literacy Strategy 2019 to encourage informed and responsible money management practices, promoting financial education in Hong Kong.

Food Wise Charter
|
HKEX signed the charter in March 2014 and has adopted measures to reduce food waste such as recycling food waste to compost as much as possible for gardening and arrangingthe quantity of food being served to canteen users on a need basis to avoid wastage.

Green Investment Principles for the Belt and Road |
HKEX signed up to the Green Investment Principles for the Belt and Road in April 2019 to promote the development of sustainable finance in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area.

Racial Diversity and Inclusion Charter for Employers

HKEX signed the charter in June 2019 to encourage best practices improving diversity and inclusion within workplaces in Hong Kong.

Talent-Wise Employment Charter and Inclusive Organisations Recognition Scheme |
HKEX signed the charter in September 2013 and has adopted various measures to enhance the employment opportunities of persons with disabilities and create an inclusive workplace.

The World Health Organisation’s Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC)
|
HKEX’s Investment Policy, Restrictions and Guidelines have incorporated the considerations of WHO FCTC by setting “tobacco and tobacco-related” as restricted industry since October 2013.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs)
|
HKEX has adopted various CSR initiatives in support of the UN SDGs.

United Nations Women's Empowerment Principles
|
HKEX made pledges in gender equality and became a signatory of the Women’s Empowerment Principles, a partnership initiative of United Nations Women and United Nations Global Compact, in March 2019.
