Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) announced today (Sunday) that the two-day connectivity test (CT) for Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect which started yesterday has been completed smoothly.
The CT was conducted to verify Participants’ system readiness for market rehearsals (MRs) scheduled for 30-31 August and 13 September.
The CT, together with the MRs, is a market preparedness initiative to enable Participants to verify their readiness to participate in Shanghai-Hong Kong Stock Connect at launch.
A total of 96 Exchange Participants (EPs), accounting for about 80 per cent of the total market turnover, and seven non-EP CCASS* Participants participated in this weekend’s CT.
Both Northbound and Southbound trading processes, as well as clearing and settlement cycles in Hong Kong and Shanghai, were verified in the test.
* CCASS stands for Central Clearing and Settlement System
