At HKEX, we are passionate about driving board diversity across our community of listed issuers, and we are pleased to have launched HKEX’s #GetOnBoard series, where inspiring female leaders share stories about their directorship journeys, and offer expert advice on how women can get nominated to board positions.

Episode 1: Laura M Cha
First up, HKEX Chairman (2018-2024) Laura M Cha shares her career journey, HKEX’s latest rule changes to ban single-gender boards, and her reasons for why a diverse board is key to good corporate governance. Laura has been a champion of change and progress in Mainland China and Hong Kong’s financial markets for more than three decades, and is the “first woman” in a number of capacities, including being HKEX’s first female Chairman.

Episode 2: Renu Bhatia
In the second episode, Renu Bhatia, Opharmic Technology Chairman and HKEX Listing Committee Chairman, shares her unique career journey - discussing how to carve out your own opportunities and why board diversity is so important. Renu’s professional experience has spanned multiple sectors, including medicine, finance and technology, and she is the Co-Founder of Opharmic Technology.

Episode 3: Christina Gaw

In the third episode, Christina Gaw, Managing Principal of Gaw Capital Partners, explains how being genuine and keeping up with connections has brought her opportunities and experience in the boardroom. Christina also shares her career journey and discusses why board diversity is so important. Christina is an Independent Non-executive Director of CLP Group and has over 25 years of investment banking and management experience in the Asia Pacific region covering major institutional clients.

Episode 4: Claire Goodchild
Claire Goodchild, Board Director at The Women’s Foundation, speaks about her corporate career and her journey to a board role with The Women's Foundation. She highlights the significance of women’s representation on boards and emphasises the importance of embracing stretch opportunities, recalling her commitment to taking up new challenges.
