Head of Clearing
HKEX
Mr Calvin Tai is heading up the clearing and risk management of
securities, derivatives and OTC clearing business of HKEX in Hong
Kong. He is also the Chief Executive of Hong Kong Securities
Clearing Company Limited and OTC Clearing Hong Kong Limited.
Before moving to clearing business, Mr Tai was Co-Head of Equities,
Fixed Income and Currency in Global Markets Division and before
that the Head of Trading Division of HKEX overseeing trading
operations, product and business development for equities, fixed
income and currency markets.
Mr Tai joined the Hong Kong Futures Exchange Limited, before
its merger with the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong, as the Head of
Products in 1998. Before joining the Hong Kong Futures Exchange
Limited, he served the banking industry in Hong Kong and held
various management positions in ABN-Amro Bank N.V., HSBC and
Royal Bank of Canada.
Mr Tai holds a Bachelor of Social Sciences degree from the
University of Hong Kong.
