Amendments to the GEM Listing Rules

 
We have amended the GEM Listing Rules to implement the proposals of the “Consultation Conclusions on Proposed Amendments to Listing Rules relating to Share Schemes of Listed Issuers and Housekeeping Rule Amendment” published on 29 July 2022.
 
The amendments to the GEM Listing Rules are to (a) extend Chapter 23 of the GEM Listing Rules to govern both share option schemes and share award schemes and (b) amend specific requirements in such Chapter to enhance the regulations of share schemes.
   
We have also made a housekeeping amendment to the GEM Listing Rules to align the requirements on payment date of subsequent issue fees by GEM issuers with those applicable to Main Board issuers.
 
Coming into effect
 

The amendments relating to share schemes will come into effect on 1 January 2023, and the housekeeping amendment will come into effect on 1 October 2022.
